Today, Eyewitness News carried the sad news that Prof. Stoltz passed away on Thursday, 21 May 2020. Here is the article of Eyewitness News:

LATE PROF. ANTON STOLTZ HAILED FOR HIS WORK TOWARDS FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19
Stoltz, who was the head of infectious diseases at the University of Pretoria and Steve Biko Hospital, died from complications during surgery on Thursday.
 Tributes continue to pour in for one of South Africa’s leading infectious diseases specialist Professor Anton Stoltz.
 Stoltz died this week from complications during surgery.
 He was the head of infectious diseases at the University of Pretoria and Steve Biko Hospital.
The health fraternity, including the Gauteng health department, the South African Medical Association and the Medical Research Council have hailed the virologist for his contribution and response to the fight against COVID-19.

The readers of this website wish to convey their condolences to the Stoltz family.

New website of FSDoE with digital learning for teachers and office-based educators

Remote teaching and learning create incredible opportunities for effective learning and collaboration outside of the classroom. Our current situation, the national lockdown, has led to a loss of teaching and learning time and has brought on many challenges and uncertainties about the immediate and future status of learning. 

The ELearning section of the Free State Department of Education has developed a beautiful website with a digital learning content pack for teachers and office-based educators to help strengthen remote teaching and learning practices. 


It is aimed at developing your skills, learning and exploring new tools as you facilitate remote teaching and learning. This self-paced learning journey is divided into five modules as shown below.

Radio broadcast: Lesedi FM


The grade 12 learner support programmes of Lesedi FM will continue during May.
