All the question papers that were used in the Free State in 2017 are now available. Go to the "Pages" link on this website and click on "Question papers". That will take you to a page with another link from where you can download the question papers and memoranda.
The process to upload some of the 2015 and 2016 papers are still in progress.
This site is maintained by Henry Welman, former provincial manager (2017-2022) and subject adviser (2001-2016) for physical and technical sciences in the Free State, South Africa. Currently retired, but interested in the well-being of teachers and learners involved in these subjects. Please read the disclaimer at the bottom of the posts.

Physical sciences June practical task: Gr 11 Additions/Corrections/Clarification to memorandum
Q3.4
The focus in this question was not on getting the correct unit per se; just to get the correct product from volume and pressure. Hence, 3 (which is the value in J) is also acceptable as an answer in addition to the 3000 (which is the value in mJ). Please note that learners do not need to state "3000 mJ". For that reason, if they state only "3", award the mark.

Q3.3
If number of drops appear on the y-axis with temperature on the x-axis, penalise one mark for not having the correct dependent variable (T) on the y-axis. The first mark of the marking criteria is the one that is then penalised.
